Gentle signs
The delay of the exhibition industry in adopting sustainable practices must stimulate designers to drive the change. Consistent with the commitment of Kale, we acted reducing the environmental impact of this project right from the concept stage, designing a narrative space based on the following solutions:
1. A modular wooden frame holds solid walls till the height of 240cm. This means to equal height and volume of neighboring booths saving one third of construction materials. Less power consumption, transport emissions, waste from dismantling;
2. Structures and display elements are reusable and made of recycled or circular materials: natural pine wood and rough fabric;
3. A ziggurat made by hundreds of Sansevieria, is placed at the center of the stand. This is an evergreen houseplant known as a natural air purifier being able to eliminate chemicals from the environment;
4. A family of visual icons identifies areas of sustainability interested by actions from our client. Visible on the outer walls of the booth, these establish a bond of empathy with the visitors.
Inside the exhibition - featuring ambiances, show cooking area and hydroponic farming - sustainable-produced displays and props along with Kale’s products embrace a nudging philosophy. The aim is to inspire the visitors with stylish eco-sensitive design solutions. An easy way to make sustainability desirable and part of our daily life.
