Is style more important than function? Litebox is design without shape. It’s not functionalism – in such case the shape would make easier and expressive the function – rather an act of non-design. The function self define the object, and the designer is just called to supervise this process. It’s an act against the invasive cult of nice and unnecessary shapes – stylish, photoshop faked – bringing back the focus on the real. Litebox is an anonymous designed object.
Not without a shade of irony, Litebox is extensively used by Marti Guixé for Alessi shops worldwide.
